Bio
I'm a professor at CCNY. My area of specialty is Euclidean geometry—though my friends will tell you that I know more about Euler than Euclid, which is probably true. Though being a professor does pay the rent, I find it is sometimes dissatisfying to teach graduate students, which is why I like to teach a summer program here at CCNY for high school students. It is also why I work part-time as a mathemagician. As a mathemagician, I visit public schools throughout the city and wow the kiddies with my awesome math skills. I encourage third graders to learn their multiplication tables and I inspire tenth graders to take calculus. It's a wonderful feeling when, after one of my presentations, a young, impressionable high school student says to me, "I never though calculus could be so fun. Because of you, I now see the beauty of derivatives and tangents. Thank you."

I'm also a ghetto-fabulous hipster. I live in Park Slope with my boyfriend, Ted, a freelance crossword editor. We both enjoy hip-hop and jazz, so we hit up all the local music venues around here. In fact, that's how we met. Ted and I were at a Eric Alexander concert at Barbes about a year ago, and he had ordered the last pint of malt beer. It was meant to be.

I'm also a freelance music journalist. I know—I'm a multifaceted, multi-talented person. Sometimes, I can't believe it myself.
